AirVenture 2012 - Homebuilts

A World War I Fokker D-VII replica.  No DR-1 Triplanes were at AirVenture this year.

3/4 scale replica of a WWI Macchi M.5 flying boat/fighter.

The Burt Rutan "Grizzley" STOL/Amphib.

Bruce admiring this good-looking Corben Junior Ace.

The Sonex "SubSonex" jet prototype.  A future project?

The "SubSonex" making a demonstration flight.

A nicely polished regular Sonex.

The new "Onex" which is a single-seater with folding wings.

For those who do not wish to wait for the SubSonex kit to come to market, you can always buy a BD-5J kit.

This vehicle is actually part of a powered-parachute aircraft.

A Nieuport-17 replica made from an Airdrome Aeroplanes kit and powered by a Rotec R2800 radial engine.

I wouldn't mind building one of these someday:  a Zenith CH 750.  A STOL plane, it has amazing short-take off and landing performance.

The CH 750 has great visibility and side-by-side seating.

I don't know much about this kitplane but I thought they had a great banner.
